Use as an app
Add Kakomap to your home screen and you can open it with one tap, like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store, and whenever the idea strikes you, you can compare a town you are curious about as it was 60 years ago and as it is today.
You are already using it as an app
This screen was opened from Kakomap on your home screen. You do not need to do anything else. Go to Find a location and enjoy how the next town has changed.
Android / computer (Chrome / Edge)
In your browser, you can add it with one button.
When you press the button, your browser opens a confirmation screen.
- Open the browser menu from the three vertical dots to the right of the address bar.
- Choose "Install app" (on a computer, "Install Kakomap").
- Press "Install" on the confirmation screen, and Kakomap appears on your home screen or desktop.
iPhone / iPad (Safari)
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (at the top right on iPad).
- Choose "Add to Home Screen" from the list.
- Tap "Add" at the top right, and Kakomap appears on your home screen.
What happens when you add it
- It opens from the icon on your home screen in full screen, without an address bar.
- The content is this site itself, so locations and articles are always up to date.
- It uses almost no storage on your device. If you no longer need it, just delete the icon the same way as any other app.
